It Never Ends

Normally, when the power goes out, it’s a small problem, sometimes barely a problem. When you’re in a deep space research laboratory in orbit of an uninhabitable planet, having the power go out means that your life support systems are running on emergency power. When the power goes out here, the clock starts ticking towards your death. Small things matter, because if everything isn’t running like a well oiled machine, people die. You die. There isn’t room for error. And when the pirates show up to raid your ship of all your supplies, it’s kill or be killed.

Electromagnetic storms. Space pirates. And that’s just on top of the constant need for food and supplies. Every day is a struggle. It just never ends.
